I'm Kevin Thom, and I'm a photographer. I've been passionate about photography since I discovered it as a child, and I've never stopped taking photos.
I specialize in photos of people: portraits, headshots, modeling portfolios, promotional photos for bands and performers of all kinds. When I work with people, whether it's for professional portraits, headshots, or fine art pieces, my goal is to allow them to feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. It is only then that I can capture what it is that makes that person special or unique.
I do assorted other kinds of photography as well, including commercial and architectural work. My portfolio also includes artistic and conceptual fine art photos that I show at exhibitions. In all cases, I strive to show the essence of my subject, as concisely as possible.
I shoot mostly in my studio loft in Hamilton, Ontario. My studio is well-equipped for headshots, portrait, glamour and commercial product photography. I also shoot on location. I've shot in forests, barns, canoes, washrooms, halfway houses, movie theatres, bars, cars, and countless other places. There are very few locations I won't shoot.

Modeling opportunities
I often need models for my conceptual and expressive pieces. Most of my models have worked with me on a "Time For CD" basis. This means I provide digital copies of finished images to the model to compensate him or her for posing. It's an excellent way for new models to build a portfolio of professional quality photographs for free.
If you're interested in modeling for me, and you're planning to be in the Hamilton/Toronto area, please contact me by email. Include one or two photographs of yourself. They don't have to be fancy photographs. Snapshots will do.
All models must be 18 or older, or have permission in writing from a parent/guardian before shooting.
