Affirmative Action is Colette Kendall, Mart Alas, Max Boateng, and me. Tonight we’re playing in Toronto for the first time ever. The show is at the Bad Dog Theatre, at 138 Danforth Ave. It’s the home of Toronto Theatresports, and is an important venue on the Toronto improv scene. Tonight’s show is called Midweek Mayhem, and is a competition between improv teams with the winners chosen through audience applause.

I’m excited about the performance. It’s only been a year since I officially started studying improv, and I’m happy with what I’ve accomplished to this point. I’ve been trained by some of the best improvisors in North America. I’ve learned a lot about the “mechanics” of the craft, and I’m even starting to teach a little. I have helped form a team and recruit new members to it. I’ve become more comfortable on stage than off of it. And now I’m getting to play on an important stage in Toronto. If you’d told me all of this last year, I would have laughed out loud.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in seeing us play tonight, the show starts at 8PM and costs $5.
