Ronin – Coolest and realistic car chase ever.

Forrest Gump – “Mamma always said, ‘Stupid is as stupid does.'”

My Cousin Vinny – Marisa Tomei.

Batman – Jack Nicholson as the Joker: “This town needs an enema!” and Prince soundtrack. This is the hippest superhero film ever made, and it didn’t even try to be.

La Bamba – Fun music overlaid onto an incredible story of two very different brothers.

Jerry Maguire – “Show me the money!”

Planes, Trains and Automobiles – Two of my favorite comic actors, Steve Martin and John Candy, play off each other perfectly in this hilarious movie. It could have been pure slapstick, but it was cleverly written so that the characters transform each other gradually into better people. The film has a touching ending that crowns it as one of the greatest comedies ever.

Amadeus – One of music’s towering figures is brought down to Earth.

Lawrence of Arabia – An epic historical drama that’s way before its time. The soundtrack is one of my all-time favorites.

Mystery Men – Absurd and hilarious. It’s a visual treat, and a triumph of unlikely heroes.

I will post more as I think of them!
