I called a customer today to ask if she’d sent me a cheque for about $3000 that her company owes me. She said she’d sent it about 2 weeks ago. We figured there might have been a delay in the delivery because of the holiday weekend. It was a long shot though, since Canada Post usually delivers within the city within a day or two, so two weeks is really pushing it.
After I talked to her, I noticed there was a message on my answering machine. Apparently some dude found the cheque lying on the ground outside of my building. He looked up my number and tracked me down. He said he’ll call me when he’s in Hamilton later today and I can meet him to get the cheque.
I called my customer back and explained what happened. She said, “They say through rain, sleet or snow, nothing is said about sloppiness.” How true. 😀
Haha that was so Napoleon Dynamite
Canada Post …
there’s lot of good people in the world
my god, that’s lucky.
i guess though if it got permanently lost, no one else would be able to cash it, and so the company could cancel it and send you a new one? still, would be so much hassle… nuts.
