I woke up this morning to find out that my business phone (Primus VOIP) was dead. I checked the website and found out thatPrimus had pushed a bad firmware update to my VOIP router, killing it. There were some complicated instructions for restoring it. I turned on my upstairs computer so I could connect it to the VOIP router and fix it. I heard a pop and smelled smoke. Upstairs computer was dead. I finally fixed the router with my laptop and then headed out (late) for service calls. I looked around for my cell phone. I couldn’t find it anywhere. I called it, but didn’t hear it ringing. I figured it must be in the car. Well, it’s not. Not that I can see, anyway. So, it appears that I have lost yet another phone. This is getting expensive. I am not having good luck with technology today, which given my jobs, is not a good sign. I’m wondering what’s next…
UPDATE: I took my cordless phone out to the parking lot and called my cell. I found it jammed under the seat. It must have fallen under there during some hard manouevering. 😛 Things are starting to look up…
yikes!!!
good thing it wasn’t an iphone!!
haha i know how THAT feels.
I hope the rest of technology will come to its senses too soon.
what’s wrong with the computer, did you figure it out yet
no i haven’t figured it out. it smells pretty burned though. i have a spare motherboard and i’ll install that some day when i have more time.
Gotta love the smell of burned silicon. Especially after it follows weird pops.
