Last time I tried this, the formatting got all messed up, and line wraps were funny. But, it might be necessary, especially since my Dad said he couldn’t read my blog when he was in China. China has a way of blocking websites. So, I’ll need some way to post stuff from the road.
Anyway, this seems to be the solution (if it works). I’ll send email to a super-secret email address, and my blog will check that address regularly. If there’s something in that mailbox, it gets posted. I wonder if formatting works? Here goes nothing…
.
It works!
Conversely, Kev, I cannot check my email (or even my blog reader) at my temp job, so I need to write in my blog or go to my friends’ blogs to “communicate” with people.
So would you copy your dad’s email address when you send in your blogpost emails?
hey nick, no i guess i left out some vital info. my dad was traveling in china, and wanted to keep up to date with what i was doing, so he tried to visit my blog. it was blocked by the great firewall of china. now that he’s back home in canada, he doesn’t have any trouble reading the blog. so, i’m anticipating that when i go to china in october, i won’t be able to blog from there unless i have a way to transmit the entries.
anyway, it sucks that your work is so restrictive, but they have their motives, i suppose. it’s kind of like china. the authorities will try to block the info, but the people will always find a way around it!
