Well, Montana is known for having wide open spaces. That’s what it is to me, anyway. I’ve been tracking the traffic on my portfolio site for about a month using Google Analytics, and out of all the states, only Montana and Kentucky haven’t sent anyone to see me! What’s up with that?
I find Google Analytics pretty entertaining, although I’m no sure how accurate it is. My other stats package (Webalizer) shows much higher traffic, probably because it also counts people who are linking directly to my images, whereas Google Analytics requires people to load the whole page, and run Javascript too. Those direct linkers will be invisible to Analytics.
Wow that’s really neat!
makes me wanna learn the US states. 🙂
oh yea, also, how does the google analytics work? is it free? does it affect the website in any way? I want to try it too!
it’s pretty easy. you sign up here: https://www.google.com/analytics/ and then it gives you some code to paste into your site. it uses that code to track visitors. it updates once per day. you should try it 🙂
We loves you in California!
Finally I can have an idea about the number of visits on your website during a month and an average for a day. :p
I’m on thee beta of reinvigorate it’s very cool and nice too. I don’t know if I can invite you or if the final version is finally release as everyone is speaking about this analytic on their blog…
Google gives you a little less number of visits than reality, webalizer a lot more., depends.
I found a crazy website, it’s web2.0, oriented for social and viral marketing, very pro, and the guy is very good. Check Jeremy Cowart.
As I was browsing trough your portfolio I was looking at the number of views for each gallery. Naturaly there are more visit for naked women. But I think we could improve it for the galleries with less visit just by changing the photo featured for these.
@ Hesi
For analytics you just have to put some javascript in the website code, it will appear on everypage and will track visitor. it’s free, you just need a gmail to use it. And it doesn’t affect the website. Have fun.
