I’m getting back into the rhythm of normal life, as much as possible. My suitcases arrived, thankfully intact. I’m missing the strap from my garment bag, but that’s a minor loss. Jetlag is a bit of an issue. It didn’t affect me for the first couple of days, just like last time, but I’m finding that I’m uncontrollably sleepy at about 10pm now. Basically I’ll be sitting there, and all of a sudden just be unable to stay awake. I’ll wake up unexpectedly a couple of hours later, not knowing where I am or how I got there. A couple of times, I woke up thinking I was still in China. Confusion!
I’ve also been having weird thoughts when I wake up in the middle of the night. Two nights ago, I woke up with all of my thoughts in Chinese. Unfortunately I was unable to decipher what they were saying. But, it sounded like perfectly accented Cantonese to me. It makes me think of the story that Hesi sent me about the Czech (I think he was Czech) guy who got hit by a car and woke up in the ambulance able to speak perfect English, even though he was struggling with the language in classes. He lost it when he recovered from his injuries, but it’s just a reminder that our subconscious holds everything for us, even though we might not realize it.
My little Korean buddy from Huang Shan sent me some pics he took of me climbing the mountain. Ahhh memories!
I saw some of my improv peeps last night. I’m looking forward to the show tomorrow night!
Dude, the first paragraph sounds out of Fight Club! Do you have a burn scar on your hand in the form of lips? =P
Yes, and they’re actually talking to me. I’m using my 1337 lipreading skillz and they’re saying…. “kekekekekekekawaaaaaiii!!!!!” omgwtf?!
wow that’s so creepy!
Maybe you’re developing multiple personalities and one of them doesn’t know English? that would make an awesome House episode or something 😛
