I love the little stories that are everywhere. For instance, I got this ten dollar bill as change at the grocery store. It makes me wonder what was the story behind the note scribbled on the front of it.
Was the guy unable to make it to the nearest Hallmark store before Uncle Bob’s birthday? Was he behind bars, and earned that bill hammering out license plates? Or is this just the best way the guy knows how to express his affection for his favorite uncle? Curtis, if you’re out there, let me know.
In other news, I’ve started labeling disks for my clients with Lightscribe.
I’m really digging the technology. The labels are not quite as nice-looking as the color ones I had been producing on an inkjet printer, but they’re far less hassle. Also, I don’t have to buy expensive ink.
Lightscribe is sorta cool and I was wondering when you might use it for clients for the exact reason you specified. You can also get colored CDR which is kinda neat. Still waiting for colored DVD media.
Yea it took me a while to clue into Lightscribe. I haven’t bought the colored disks yet, but I might soon. I just bought an initial spindle of 25 gold ones to test them out. So far so good!
that looks cool! do you really prefer your color labels versus the scribing?
Yea… the color labels really look fantastic. The inkjet printer does a beautiful job printing in full color on them, but it’s more time consuming because I have to pick text colors that match the photo, are legible, etc. Lightscribe is all monochrome, so it’s easier for me 😛
